Based on the"Make Art, Not War," poster created by American contemporary artist and activist, Shepard Fairey in 2014. I altered the original design slightly to de-emphasize the"Obey Giant"message and put more emphasis on the creation of art and its different mediums and tools. I drew inspiration from the art mediums and tools that I love to utilize such as needle and thread (embroidery), pen and ink stopper (pen and ink), paint brushes (acrylic, India ink, and watercolor), awl (bookmaking), and pencil (sketching and drawing.) My interest in Art Nouveau-style posters as well as the message of the poster drew me to create my own altered version.
